The new Toyota Glanza has been launched on 6th June 2019 at Rupees 7,29,100 (Ex-showroom Guwahati). The Glanza has been developed in the Suzuki plant as a part of the Toyota-Suzuki tie up. The tie up has been formed to share the strengths of each automobile giants to develop new products of their own interest. Suzuki is known for developing power-trains and compact cars whereas Toyota is renowned in the world for manufacturing hybrid and electric vehicles. So, while Toyota will be benefited by the Suzuki's compact cars Suzuki will be sharing the technology of Toyota to develop electric or hybrid vehicles. With emission norms becoming more and more stringent for the betterment of the environment, there is no denying that electric or hybrid vehicles are the future.

The Toyota Glanza will only be available in petrol variant and currently is available in four variants; G(MT), G(CVT), V(MT), and V(CVT).
The MT variants are the manual transmission variants and the CVT variants are the automatic variants. The G(MT) variant along with the regular 'lead-acid battery' has a 'lithium-ion battery' as well which gets recharged when the car de-accelerates by 'regenerative braking'. This setup of two battery is known as 'dual battery setup' The lithium-ion battery provides extra power to the engine during initial acceleration which helps in improved fuel efficiency.
